My Business
My Busyness
Healing, helping, freeing
Teaching. Balancing.
This is my work,
My passion,
My Expertise.
Something I’ve spent
Thirty Years learning
(and counting).
I love doing it, and yet
I need my solitude.
I love the calls, and yet
I feel badly
when I make
you
wait for an appointment.
But if I don’t take care of myself,
I can’t take care of you.
Know that I care.
It’s a balancing act that,
For the most part,
I do pretty well.
I believe in your generosity and goodness, your acting out of Love.

Thanks, Clare. When I reread this poem this morning, it sounds almost arrogant! I have such a great healing practice here and I feel so blessed to be able to work with so many, but sometimes, I get a bit frustrated because I can’t always keep up with the demand! It’s a great problem to have…

It doesn’t sound arrogant at all Cathy but realistic. I know exactly what you mean.

If we don’t take care of ourselves, we can’t take care of others. That is something I’m struggling with right now.

Yes, it’s such a tough one. It’s especially tough to take care of yourself when you’re wanting to spend as much time as possible with aging parents.
How’s your Dad, Robin? I’ve been thinking about you…

Still in the hospital but they are talking about releasing him soon. He is so bummed about this setback. Mom is getting worse. Sisters are going crazy. I’m stuck in California until this nasty cold clears up. I’ll head to Portland next week for a goo long stretch. Thanks for asking, Cathy.

I agree with every word of this! But you’re obviously successful because you’re doing it right, so keep up the good work! 🙂

I especially love your first two lines!
So I’ll be honest, I had no idea what you do…but from your tags, I think you’re a massage therapist of some sort? If you are, then awesome! I think that you help many people take away their stress, aches, and pains. So glad you’re taking care of yourself too!
And if not then, I’m really out of the loop so please fill me in. Haha 😛

Hi Vyv,
Thank you! You’re right, I’m a Physical Therapist, Bodyworker, and I also do energy healing. I started my blog to talk all about that, but I love to create and my blog has taken me more in the creative direction with my photography, poetry and writing. But every now and then, I’ll post something about my work. This poem appeared in my brain because I have been so busy recently and I’m booked in my healing practice until mid-January. So sometimes people get a little miffed with me when they can’t get in as soon as they’d like. They’re usually kind about it, but I guess I feel a little guilty when I can’t see everyone when they want (only a little guilty). 🙂

Woohoo!! +1 for me! 🙂
I always find it so interesting to see how a blog progresses. I’m still waiting to see where mine will go in the next few months.
I definitely enjoy a good mix with any blog I frequent so I think that’s why I enjoy yours so much. I completely understand the whole busy thing but I’m glad you have work! Haha. I think being so busy just goes to show how others respect you and your work to book you that far out!
My family and I have a family chiropractor who is just the nicest woman ever and she’s often booked as well. I love her to death though because she always tries to see what she can do regardless because she feels a little guilty as well 😛

Yep, it’s that “caregivers” mentality. We really want to help. And I so agree – I think it’s important to write about the things that interest you and share several aspects of your life on a blog. It does make it more interesting. Thanks, Vyv!
