For this week’s challenge, we’re asked to share “A story in a frame…the photographer’s eye.” I shot this photo while walking through Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado with a friend yesterday. This is Old Town Square at lunch time – the brightest part of the day. While the photo captures this intense mid-day light, I also wanted to capture the intense colors of the painted piano. These pianos placed throughout the Old Town invite anyone who wishes to play them. I have not been brave enough to do so, but I love this one, in particular. Would you be tempted?

I love the colors, too, Jennifer. I realized after I took the shot that it’s an octopus! How appropriate, huh?

Beautiful light and color in this one, Cathy. Oh, it makes me miss Fort Collins. That’s pretty cool that they put these pianos around Old Town. Do you ever see many people play on them?
LikeLike
Thank you, Amy. No I have never seen anyone play them, so I have no idea how they sound, but it’s such a cool idea! And Old Town is so pretty in the summer. You’ll have to come back some time and let me know when you’re coming. We’ll get together!

Thank you, Kathryn. I’m doing well. I was very busy this weekend with a house guest – my childhood friend was here visiting for the weekend and I’m just now getting caught up. How’s that lovely painting going?

Those are beautiful colors, sort of incongruous with the setting but who cares? I’d be itching to play The Entertainer on a piano in a place like that.

Oh, I love that, Weebs! The Entertainer would be perfect. I also thought of “Under the Sea” because of the octopus theme! I loved the colors too.

I would NOT be tempted, since I don’t know how to play the piano, though I might strike a key or two. That’s the most colorful piano I’ve ever seen. I love the way those hanging baskets of flowers seem like a continuation of the design on the piano…or vice versa.

Thanks, Lee! I liked the hanging baskets, too. It was fun to me at how they seemed to intersect.
