Well this was an easy one! One of my favorite subjects is the horizon on the east side of my home. With our expansive views, I’m always tempted to keep my camera on hand. I hope I’m not boring you with these shots, as I’ve posted many on this site. But how could I resist with this challenge? I have so many in my Lightroom Catalogue!
This particular shot was taken at dusk of an unusual cloud formation. I loved the thin, soft veil on the top of the larger anvil forming as my husband, Peter, says “to hammer the plains” with an evening rainstorm.

I never tire of these photos, Cathy. Another gorgeous shot!

I agree with Bumble Cathy. I never tire of your shots either. They’re always pretty Life magazine crossbred with National Geographic to me. I love the red orange glow you captured in the clouds.

It was a beautiful evening and we watched as that veil formed and then dropped over the top of the large, tall cloud. Thanks, V!

Ditto on the above. I bet you and Peter do some serious cloud-busting, huh? Beautiful pic, Cathy and they are NEVER boring.
LikeLike
Well, I do cloud-busting, I’m not sure Peter does. We have a wonderful paved bike path on this same prairie and when I go running, I like to pic a few small clouds and make them disappear. It’s fun and I like to remind myself I can do it! 🙂 Thanks so much, Brigitte!

Thanks, Carrie. How did your re-cert exam go?

Very good. Or at least that’s what I like to tell myself… Thanks for asking!

I’m sure you did great. At least it’s over. Fortunately, it’s not required for P.T., at least for the time being.

There isn’t a certification process for physical therapists? I thought there was. I imagine you have to maintain education hours though, don’t you?
LikeLike
There is a certification process for P.T.- a full day of testing, just not re-cert. And yes, there are education hours to maintain.

But as you say, it’s probably only a matter of time before the field will require recertification.

Thank you, Janet! Fort Collins, Colorado.

That’s a beautiful area. I lived in Steamboat for two years many years ago and then in Greeley for a year. So sorry about all the flooding this year. I hope you escaped!

So you know exactly where I am! I love Steamboat and we try to get over every year or two. We did escape the floods as did most of Fort Collins. The main areas of flooding were north of town by the Poudre River and parts of Greeley got some flooding by the Poudre and also the South Platte. It’s amazing how quickly things are recovering. I heard last week that HWY 34 up to Estes Park is expected to re-open before the end of the year!
Thanks so much, Janet!

Fort Collins is a great little city. I’m thinking it might be in the running for a possible retirement place. It’s near the mountains, near Wyoming where we go every summer, has lots of bike paths, cool shops and restaurants and some great microbreweries! 🙂
LikeLike
Yes! We have ALL of that and more microbreweries every week it seems! 🙂 For several years there, it was ranked number one by Money Magazine as the place to retire! But we’re trying to keep that a secret…

Boring? Oh no … and I’m learning why the camera wants to be in hand. Love the brightness of the puffy clouds, and the combo with the thin, dark clouds.

Thanks, Frank. That view to the east with the mountains (to the west) blocking the sun early creates these great contrasts. It makes for very interesting sunsets to the east (?!). 🙂
