Yeah, I know it’s just nature. But I’m a softie, so my rule is, if I see it, I save it, unless it’s directly attacking me. I love spiders too, and I’ve even escorted MOSQUITOES outside. Nutty. 🙂
I saw this photo on my iPhone first and that little thing sticking outside the plant looked like an inchworm. Then I got to look at the photo again on my computer – what a difference. Size does matter! Amazing photo!
How I envy you! Frankly, I wish it was the fly that’s been buzzing around my apartment for almost an entire week. I don’t know how it got in, but it’s in no hurry to get out.
Yep, I think I’m going to name my new Venus Flytrap “Fang.” She’s a beauty and I’m glad she is enjoying a hearty fly meal. While I don’t really wish any harm to most of God’s creatures, flies buzzing me in the middle of the night bring out the “dark side” in me…
This is my first Venus Flytrap, Kathryn. It’s truly fascinating. They’re a lot smaller than I had imagined, but big enough to catch a fly. It’s true about evolution – if you can’t get nitrogen (from protein) in the soil go for what’s in the air! 😈
Reminds me of the show “Little Shop Of Horrors”..Happy Halloween!

Aww. That’s sad. I would have had to save the poor fly. I’m a bug lover. 🙂

Sorry, Jennifer. I typically like bugs, too. But I guess it’s just the cycle of life! :-0 I often escort spiders outside and never kill them.

Ouch. Nature can be seemingly brutal at times. Awesome pic and perfect for the day, C.

Me, too, Carrie! It is interesting, however, when a plant is higher on the food chain than a flying insect. Spooooky!

My fly has not been around tonight. But a Venus Flytrap would be such a welcome addition to y household.

SNAP TRAP AND EAT 🙂 I did a blog on these and am still enamored by a carnivorous plant. Hence the theory of evolution ! 🎃
