We used to live in Western Colorado near the Colorado National Monument—love the layers of sandstone.

I love the Colorado National Monument, Allan. And as I’m sure you know, from the Front Range, one drives right by it to get to the Moab area. The sandstone in the west is just so beautiful. Thanks so much for the comment!

Thanks, V. I love the depth of focus of this one, too. The backstory on this shot is that it was taken prior to a concert as part of the Moab Music Festival. This location was chosen for a “musical hike” for its beauty and amazing acoustics. The musicians were set-up about 75 feet to the right of this overlook (two violins and a cello) and the young man in the shot is a Navajo Flutist who played several concerts during the festival, but was attending this one. I don’t know his name, but we talked with him for a while during the two-mile hike back out from the concert site.
