Beautiful capture Cathy. I adore the soft fronds out of focus in the front. And the wee House Sparrow looks ready to spring into flight… to begin its day. A lovely image!
Hugs, Gina
Thank you, Mary. I agree. I’d call these grasses “feathery!” These little sparrows were so cute and voracious eaters. They really loved the grass seeds.
I love your bird photos, Cathy. This is just beautiful. The way the grasses are soft and fuzzy in the forefront, and everything is sharp in the back. Love it! BTW- got this post in the inbox; what’s up with this?? Weird.
Hi Kathryn!
Do you cut your grasses in the fall? I’ve been told that it’s okay to leave them until spring as they add some texture to the winter landscape – which is what we do.
Cathy
Yes. We got back before Christmas. But we’re getting ready for a weekend trip to Breckenridge to ski this coming weekend! Can’t wait. Where are you headed next?
I’m also somewhat of an early bird. I get up between 6 and 7. And like you, I love the “new beginnings” inspirations. Hope your New Years is going well so far!
Best,
Cathy

Hugs to you, Gina! Thank you! I love these grasses, too. As did the birds – a cereal breakfast. 🙂

I love how the out-of-focus fronds in the foreground remind me of feathers. The entire photo emits a feeling of peacefulness. 🙂

I this case, he got the grass, Jennifer. This flock of sparrows was feeding on these seedheads first thing every morning! 🙂

There are so many! Some stay but most go as they are harder to clean up in the spring after so much snow! Are you back from your diving trip now?
