This week, the photo challenge is to share a story – or offer you, the reader the chance to create your own story from your experience of the photos. Here is my offering – a story of three photos from a day at the beach on Cape Cod. It is my hope to evoke in you a feeling or a mood, and I’d love to know your impressions!

Lovely photos Cathy! They say ‘sanctuary’ to me … a place to hide away

It was beautiful, although not very warm. But the beach is still the beach! Thanks, V.

To me Cape Cod always seems like the perfect place to write a novel, and your pics support that. The perfect solitude to draft a mystery. 🙂

I agree, Carrie. Cape Cod is oozing with mystery. On this particular day, the mist enveloped everything making the mood even more “Stephen Kingish!”

I love Cape Cod, Cathy. I’ve been there once a long time ago. I sense a bit of mystery in these photos, as if someone is revisiting her past.

With the mist enshrouding the dunes that day, I almost expected to see a fisherman’s ghost come walking out of the water! I’m glad the photos created that mysterious mood for you, Amy.

It was early Autumn when I took, these shots, Georgia, but Fall does come early on the cape. The leaves were turning and there was definitely a chill in the air.

Lovely, ideal time to be alone with one’s thoughts, lulled by the ocean’s rhythm…

I love it, Mimi! On that particular day, we had the entire beach to ourselves with the exception of a few Sandpipers. And that wonderful misty salt air…

Part of me will always live on the Cape… where much of my family still lives, my grandmother and grandfather are buried, and my mind still wanders to. Love the way you streamed these Cathy. I never seem to be able to do these cool things… love it!

Thanks, Dawn! I love Massachusetts and Boston in particular. I lived there for three years in the late 70s while my ex was in law school at Harvard. I worked at MIT as a research assistant. There’s just something magical about the whole area! The streaming feature can be found on the media page when you add new media. There’s a link at the top left corner that says something like: “Create a Gallery.” You chose the photos you want in the gallery and then you’ll a box that allows you to choose the kind of gallery – boxes, mosaic, slideshow. Then WordPress just does it for you!

Thanks Cathy! I’ll give it a try… I went to school at Lesley, right there on Harvard’s campus, and Smart Guy went to MIT, so I know the area well! There is something very magical indeed!
