Thanks, Mimi. I love these Arrow crabs. They can be found all over and mostly under the reefs, but you have to look close or you’ll miss them. They’re only a couple of inches across, including all those spindly legs!

This was such a fun shot, Dawn. As we were finning along on the reef, I decided for some reason, to look down into that tube sponge and there sat this little Arrow crab! I use a great LED video light on my camera set-up so it’s easier to spot such things. I know my fellow divers were wondering what it the world I was shooting in there! Thanks for your support!

I am hoping to take diving this year, in preparation for a trip to Fiji in the fall! I will have to check in with you about camera equipment. IF I’m going down there, I NEED to record it! I’ll learn from a Master! 😉

That’s always a good feeling. Last week it took me at last half an hour to figure out what I wanted to do and I didn’t think it was great. But at least it was done. 🙂 This week there were lots of choices.

Thanks, Amy. The undersea world is a kind of wonderland for me! One never knows what delights will appear in the little cracks, crevices and tubes in the reef. What a delight it was to look down into the center of that bright pink tube sponge to find that crab. So fun!

Hey Cathy, I meant to visit sooner, but then Friday night happened with Milton and Coco and the rest as “they say” was history … Very cool shot of a hidden part of the world I would never ever see otherwise. Even a tiny arrowcrab was granted its moment in the spotlight. I would if it has since become some big fish’s dinner or it’s still hanging out in sponges?

Thanks for stopping by, V. I found myself wondering how it got in there in the first place. These tube sponges are quite tall and narrow so it had to have been pretty exposed on it’s climb up the sponge. Not to mention what it eats while sitting in that sponge! Glad you liked the shot. I had been saving it and hoping for some appropriate Weekly Challenge prompt. This seemed like the perfect time!
