hey, how come you are visiting Cathy and not me–I am forlorn now or forelorn or forlorne–as you can see I am not sure how to spell it–how about sad then, sad I can spell
I was wondering how you’re surviving this endurance test. Thirty days of Lame Adventures would kill me (even though every day has an LA element to it such as today’s terrifying hair day). I hope after you cross the finish line we’ll hear from you again before July.
Oh, I can’t resist the weekly photo challenge, but that’ll probably be it for a while, V. Sorry about the hair day. Was it humid in NYC? And just so you know, I do really appreciate the daily support through this!
It’s NOT humid, Cathy!!!! My hair is just copping an attitude. I don’t know what brought this on, but I’m suffering relationship woes with it. Milton and I are attending the theater tonight but my crowning glory looks like a big brown cloud.
I’d sooner wear a bag over my head. We’re seeing Tales from Red Vienna starring Nina Arianda. She’s a big deal whenever she shows up on the boards out here. Milton and I love her.
Sums it up perfectly. But you have 23 days done! I petered out on NaNoWriMo after a week. You can do this! Maybe you should just write 7 of them, post them and go on a bender….
I think I’ll do the bender now, Elyse. Then wake up tomorrow and continue… Maybe there’s something about the numerology of the number twenty-three, or biorhythms or the organization of the planets or something! I’ll get over it…
Actually, I liked the portrait, even though it seemed a bit cruel… but regarding the haikus, I believe that poetry reveals itself at certain moments, and isn’t a good media for challenges. Better to be challenged in photography, or the telling of a story… but when it comes to poetry, I consider it best to wait till the tree, rock, or fish in the water winks at us.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Shimon. In general, I agree with you on all points. But truthfully, the post was mostly tongue-in-cheek humor. I enjoy writing poetry and it really hasn’t been a strain. I just thought the poem might fit with the photo. As always, great to see you here!
Haha, you can do it, Cathy!

Bummer! I hate bad hair days! What are you going to see? Maybe you could wear a fancy scarf for the occasion.

Well have a great time. I’m sure the only person who will be bothered by your hair is you. And maybe you’ll write an LA about the show.

Thanks! I’ll make sure to avoid looking at my reflection from the neck up.

Are haikus a requirement?
It seems you still have time…
So maybe try some rhyming
To matchy-match with mine! 🙂

No haikus required
For Poetry month, it’s true
But short and sweet’s desired
When there’s so much to do! 🙂

I’m all about the brevity
That’s all I know to do
My poems come a-sneezing out
It sounds just like “haiku!” 🙂

Or perhaps if you write while drinking, you will reach Hemmingway-esqe ummm, writing. Or shoot yourself which would not be a good outcome.
