  2. Were these shots self-timed, Cathy, or was Peter recruited to take on portrait photography? You’re probably smiling in relief that you’re more than 75% through this endurance test.

I use a great device that allows me to control my camera from my iPad – it’s called a CamRanger- so these are true self-portraits (or these days, selfies). The camera was on a tripod and the iPad was in my lap. You’re right, my arms are not that long!

They were taken during a photo shoot in my home studio as I wanted a self portrait for my photography website and then I ended up using the same shot for my Gravatar here. And, yes, I chose the one today because I am smiling at being close to the end of NaPoWriMo. Only six more days to go!

Great smile, Cathy. Is that a true black background or are you photoshopping?

Great self-portrait! And I’m glad to see you’re smiling again. 🙂

Question: Does that CamRanger (app?) allow you to see and frame your photo on the iPad? And since you’re holding a camera, I assume you have another one that you were taking the photo with?

  8. Cathy Ulrich says:

Yes, to both questions, Lee. The camera I’m holding is my old Nikon D70. The photo was taken with my Nikon D600. The Cam Ranger tethers to the iPad using a Wifi device.
