Weekly Photo Challenge – Symmetry

Daffodil

Daffodil

I haven’t posted a flower shot in a long time, and I don’t usually photograph symmetrical subjects symmetrically. But since this daffodil is a symmetrical flower, I decided to share its portrait for the challenge.

I love yellow flowers and I love symmetry, so it’s a win-win in my mind. 🙂

  2. Mmm, I can smell it from here. And by “here,” I mean “under 18 feet of snow.” 😛

  4. Well done Cathy! That perfectly proportioned beautiful flower nails the theme. The bright yellow pops nicely against the black background, too. Of course, my comment is saying exactly what any sap or sap-ette can clearly see.

I love your asymmetrical photo of symmetry. That looks like a spot of pure sunshine, a welcome sight indeed on yet another cold, grey, black and white morning.

Beautifully done. To me, what makes the image is the fact the flower is not huge, but off to the side, and in right proportion to the black makes it pop.
