Morning on the Prairie
I love sunrises, and I am so blessed to live in a place where they are so beautiful. Here’s a shot of Kathy Fromme Prairie Open Space on the south side of Fort Collins, Colorado taken from my deck!

Thanks for sharing your sweet view at daybreak, Cathy. I love sunrise in theory, but in practice, I’d rather catch more z’s.

I’m with you about arising early, V. Most of these shots are taken in the winter when the sun comes up around seven instead of summer when appears above the plains around 4:30. I’m never up then. And when traveling, I prefer to catch the evening “golden hour” for photography! And thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the view.

Thanks, Leon. It’s a little easier (although colder) to catch these shots in the winter when the sun comes up later. So PJs, tripod and winter coat it is! 🙂

It is definitely a great view, Mary. Our house also has lots of wonderful large windows (as one would hope for in a location like this, right?), so it’s hard to miss these sunrises to the east! 🙂 It’s the first thing I see when I come in the kitchen every morning. So grateful!

Thanks, Dawn. Too funny about the early birds. Actually I have a raised bed vegetable garden full of earthworms (a good sign of healthy soil) and we get robin flash mobs fairly often. One day I looked out and saw about 20 of them sitting on the edges of the beds listening. It took me a few seconds to figure out what they were doing. Need to get a shot of that sometime! 🙂
