The View From My Back Deck
Wait…What? Roy G. Biv apparently is an acronym for the colors of the rainbow – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
Here’s a shot of one such rainbow taken after a storm. It’s the view from my deck!

You’re right, Carrie. The trick here was that I used a fisheye lens. I was surprised at how bubble-like it came out, too. Definitely under-the-dome-esque!

I think of all the amazing photos you have posted, this is my all-time favorite. It makes me happy to look at it, and it makes me think of The Wizard of Oz which was a favorite movie as a kid. I can almost see Glinda in that rainbow ball. And the colors are scrumptious!

We could not believe the intensity of the first lightening storm we experienced in Colorado near Pikes Peak. No wonder Tesla did his famous research there in Colorado Springs. Great photo! Big sky country …

Thanks, Peter. Yes, we do get amazing storms here in the summer. It’s fascinating to watch the lightening over the plains from our vantage point here, too. We see a lot of cloud-to-cloud action in the evenings – quite the show.

Oh that Roy … he’s such a glory hog. 😉 … Whereas many would be tempted for a closer view of a rainbow, I think your choice of the distant shot is outstanding!
