Last Christmas, Peter and I travelled to Curaçao for a scuba trip. One evening, the resort hosted a grilled fish dinner in the beach. Here’s what greeted us as we walked into the seaside restaurant. Seemed a little creepy to me. For those of you who don’t know, that big fish head is the remains of a yellowfin tuna. It was delicious, however.

Definitely a bit creepy. Which is what makes it such a great shot. 🙂

I agree, being greeted by a giant fish head at a restaurant is a little weird, and your photo definitely brings out the “creepy.”

Thanks, Leon. Creepy shots are not normally my genre, but I really felt compelled to photograph this. It was just so interesting.

It probably looked less creepy in color. Sounds delicious, though.

It was pretty creepy in color, too, Janet. It was certainly the first time I had seen a giant fish head rising vertically from a bin at the entrance to a restaurant! But the grilled tuna was very good!

I love what the black and white does to this scene, this image… very cool, Cathy!

I agree with Dawn, Cathy, black and white ups the creepy factor. Of course, it would have been even creepier had it been a horse’s head under the covers … but I think that’s been done already.

Yep, horse’s head would have been over the top, V. The fish was the best I could do…

I suppose it could have been a sea horse’s head …
