A photo with two clear halves, this shot was taken while diving on Lighthouse Reef in Belize last fall. The structure in the foreground on which the little fish are resting is a barrel sponge.

Cathy, I always enjoy what I find when I visit. Well done, as always.

Exactly half and half, but it so beautiful! Two little blue fish resting there…
A very cool take on, Cathy!

Thank you, Amy. I know! Those two little fish seemed to be their own half and half, too!

This fabulous undersea photo, Cathy, is much more interesting to me than cream swirling in the cup of mud that I would never drink (lactose intolerant and coffee-averse). Your pictures are always reliably imaginative.

Thanks so much, V. I have to admit that I like coffee with half and half in it, but when I saw the prompt, I had to search my files to find something. I usually follow the rule of thirds, so I rarely frame anything with a dead-center horizon, but I did find this diagonal, which works better for me esthetically. It still satisfies the prompt, but in an interesting way.

An underwater gem. I was trying to figure it out before reading … and I was close – guess two fish on coral.

Thanks, Frank! Yes the two fish satisfy the prompt, but also the diagonal of the soft barrel sponge cuts the frame in half!
